OUR WOOD SETS US APART: We offer a complete line of drumsticks in maple and white hickory as well as our unique red hickory to pro- duce some of the longest lasting sticks on the market today. STANDARD WHITE HICKORY White hickory is the most common hickory used in the production of drumsticks. It absorbs shock and can take a beating. RED HICKORY Red hickory also absorbs shock well and has been proven to with- stand greater amounts of stress. Our red hickory sticks are perfect for hard hitters. By using red hickory, we are also able to make greater use of the entire plant. SAFE ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICES: Our business relies on the existance of a clean and healthy enironment so we work hard to do our part to ensure its safety by limiting the use of hazarous ma- terials that may affect our staff, our customers and the world around us. One of our latest initiatives involves the creation of an environ- mentally friendly, water-based rubber used as a grip coating on our Grip-Dip series of drumsticks. WASTE REDUCTION: The production of drumsticks creates a lot of wood shavings, saw dust and odd-shaped bits and pieces known as waste-wood. To deal with this byproduct and eliminate our waste production, we installed a wood burning furnace in our manu- facturing facility to keep us warm during the cold Canadian winter months. What we can't use as fuel goes to local farmers for use as bedding for their animals. animalsCKS.COM SUSTAINABILITY: The majority of our wood is grown and harvested under the guidance of ther e Forest Stewardship Council FSC. The FSC is an inter- national membership-based, non-profit organisation that supports environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable FSC management of the world's forests.
